The Cartographic Commons is an ongoing project which invites participants to contribute to a library of hand-drawn maps.
Iām interested in maps as visualizations of subjective histories, which describe locations as well as revealing deeper political and social nuances of place.
The Commons is a mobile kiosk which, as it collects maps, also becomes a portrait of each community's sense of place. After collection, the maps are archived and will be made accessible to view online.
